Beasiswa S3 Italia: 6 PhD Positions in Agrobiodiversity, SS Sant'Anna, Pisa, Italy

The PhD Programme in Agrobiodiversity is aimed at the enhancement of human resource capacities in the use and management of genetic variation in agricultural and natural systems, in order to improve the sustainability of agricultural systems and the conservation of genetic resources for the well-being of present and future generations.

The Programme is structured in the following curricula:
Curriculum A - Plant genetic resources: teaching and research activities take place in ENEA Research Center at "La Casaccia", a few kilometres from Rome;
Curriculum B - Functional biodiversity in agroecosystems : teaching and research activities take place in Pisa, at Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies.

Admission Requirements
- possession of a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree or equivalent title in Experimental Sciences, at an Italian or foreign university and ssession of a Degree awarded after, at least, a four-year course in Experimental Sciences;
- to be younger than 35 years (date of birth after 15 July 1974), older than 35 may be exceptionally admitted by the Admission Committee.

Positions and grants
6 positions with 6 fellowships (the net amount is € 12.500, all inclusive):
the first 4 (four) eligible candidates of Curriculum A and the first 2 (two) eligible candidates of Curriculum B will be awarded a scholarship. The School may also admit eligible candidates up to a maximum number of 2 positions.

Enclosures to the hard copy of the applications:
1.the copy of a valid identity document. Non Schengen area citizens will have to provide a photocopy of their passport

7.at least two letters of presentation from former supervisors;

The MMMF was established in 1981 to honor the late Margaret McNamara and her
commitment to the wellbeing
of women and children in developing countries. The purpose of the grant is
to support the education of
women from developing countries who are committed to improving the lives of
women and children in their
home countries. Previous grant recipients studied agriculture, architecture,
urban planning, civil engineering,
education, forestry, journalism, nursing, nutrition, pediatrics, public
administration, public health, social
sciences, and social work.

Ph.D. and Master Scholarships in German Studies at Newcastle University

For the coming academic session (2009-10), the School of Modern Languages at
Newcastle University invites applications for Masters and Ph.D. awards. A variety of
bursaries are available for UK, EU and overseas candidates. In addition to AHRC
funding and Newcastle Faculty funding, the School is offering 8 bursaries (6 at
Masters level and 2 at PhD level). One 3-year Ph.D. studentship offered by the
School is reserved exclusively for German Studies, and all the general funding
opportunities of the School of Modern Languages are also open to candidates
wishing to pursue German Studies. This can be either in one of the taught M.A.
programmes or in a research degree (M.Litt. or Ph.D.).

The following M.A.-programmes can be studied with a focus on German:
- M.A. in Professional Translating for European Languages
- M.A. in International Film
- M.A. in Linguistics and Language acquisition
- M.A. in Linguistics of European Languages

For research degrees (M.Litt. and Ph.D.) we are happy to supervise in the
following areas:
- German Linguistics
- Medieval German Studies
- Modern German Literature

Bursary applications should include:

and outlining how this relates to your previous academic work.

Beasiswa Riset: The Human Frontier Science Program- Research Grants

The Human Frontier Science Program- Research Grants


Introduction: The Human Frontier Science Program supports
international collaborations in basic life science research with
emphasis placed on novel, innovative and interdisciplinary approaches
to fundamental investigations. Applications are invited for grants to
support new approaches to understanding complex mechanisms of living
organisms. Preliminary results are not required but applicants are
expected to develop new lines of research distinct from their ongoing
research.

There are two types of grants: New Investigators' Grants are for teams
of scientists who are all within five years of establishing an
independent laboratory and within ten years of obtaining their PhDs.
Program Grants are for teams of scientists at all stages of their
careers, however the participation of younger scientists is especially
encouraged.

Eligibility: The principal applicant must be located in one of the
member countries (includes Australia) but co-investigators can be
located in any country.

Amount Awarded: Grants provide 3 years support for 2 – 4 member teams.
Awards are dependent on team size but can be up to US$450K per annum.

Indirect Cost Recovery: This scheme is subject to University of Sydney
indirect costs of up to 10%.

2009 Korean Government Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Students

1. Qualifications

Prospective applicant must meet the following qualification criteria :

(1) Applicants should be a
citizen of the country to which this scholarship program is offered. (including applicant’s parents)

  ※
Applicants should not be a
holder of Korean citizenship.

(2) Applicants should be under 25 years of age as of March 1, 2009.

(3) Have an
adequate health, both physically and mentally.

  ※ Persons who are pregnant or
having severe illness may not apply.

(4) Have finished
or be scheduled to finish formal education of elementary, middle, high school
outside of Korea
as of March 1, 2009.

(5) Possess a grade point average (G.P.A.) above 80%
from the last educational institution attended or have earned top 10% of G.P.A.
among classmates.

(6) Not at any
time have received a Korean government scholarship for his/her undergraduate
study before.

(7) Not have
enrolled in an undergraduate course in Korea before.

(8) Preferential selection for applicants who are good at Korean or English.
2. Scholarship

Benefits

â‘ Airplane ticket or airfare :
The grantees will receive an airplane ticket or be paid an economy class
airfare of the shortest route between their country and Korea when they come to
Korea, and, thereafter, when the grantees leave Korea after the completion of their
study. Â Â

※ NIIED does not compensate fees for the domestic travel both in the grantee’s
country and Korea.

※ Airfare for entry into Korea
will not be provided to a grantee who already arrived and has been staying
in Korea as of the confirmation date of selection of scholarship students.

â‘¡ Monthly Allowance : 800,000 won per month

â‘¢ Tuitions (an entrance fee and a registration fee) : The
full entrance fee are exempted by the host institution. The full tuition is
exempted by NIIED.

â‘£ Settlement Allowance : 200,000 won upon arrival

⑤ Repatriation Allowance : 100,000 won upon completion of
studies

â‘¥ Korean Language Training
Expenses : The full costs up to 1 year (NIIED pays directly to the entrusted
language training institution)

⑦ Medical Insurance: The grantees will be provided with
health insurance during the period of their study program in Korea for major
accidents and illnesses. (The medical fee will be reimbursed through the
insurance company to the grantee after he/she pays first)

※ NIIED does not compensate fees for insurance of traveling to and from
Korea.

⑧ Any grantee who gives up one’s study during the
scholarship period will not receive airfare and allowance for
repatriation except for the cases approved by NIIED such as severance of
diplomatic relations, war or other natural disasters.

※ Any grantee who quits the
program in 3 months after one’s entrance into Korea, should refund all
scholarship fees(The airfare of arriving Korea, settlement allowance, monthly
allowance, Korean language training expenses, etc.).

Beasiswa India: Government of India Scholarships

General Cultural Scholarship Scheme(GCSS)
Government of India, through the General Cultural Scholarship Scheme (GCSS)
administered by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), has
announced the grant of 28 scholarships for Indonesian students and 2
scholarships for students from Timor Leste for the academic year
2009-2010 in the fields of Arts, Architecture, Literature, Commerce and
Science and degree courses in Engineering, Pharmacy and Agriculture.
The scholarships are also extended for doctoral and post doctoral
courses.

The University of Massachusetts is offering a limited number of graduate
teaching assistantships to students admitted to the M.A./Ph.D. program in
Hispanic Linguistics through the Department of Languages, Literatures and
Cultures for the upcoming 2009-2010 academic year. Graduate students in Hispanic
Linguistics may specialize in such areas as Spanish dialectology,
sociolinguistics, second language acquisition, computer-assisted language
learning, and computational linguistics. Students are also encouraged to take
classes in the Department of Linguistics (http://www.umass.edu/linguist/), one
of the top-ranked Ph.D. programs in the country.
Qualified applicants will be considered for a graduate teaching assistantship,
which includes a tuition waiver as well as a monthly stipend during the academic
year. Graduate assistants teach undergraduate courses offered as part of the
Spanish language program. Demonstration of native or native-like fluency in
Spanish is necessary prior to appointment.

Students applying for the Ph.D. program should have an M.A. in Hispanic
